A TRAINING course for anyone interested in archaeology will take place at Tam O'Shanter farm next month.

Organised by Bidston Community Archaeology (BCA) and in partnership with the Museum of Liverpool, the first session on Friday, May 3, which will run again on Friday, May 10, will focus on 'An Introduction to Archaeology' and 'Archaeological Practice'.

The crash-course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in archaeology and will run from 10.30am until 3.30pm.

Non-members can take part in this session by paying an enrolment fee of just £10 which can then be credited for a membership fee if those who attend wish to join BCA.

Another two events will involve on-site training at BCA's dig at the farm site on Friday, May 17 and Friday, May 24 however this is only available to those who sign up to become a BCA member.

Beginning in 2010, BCA has members of all ages and is set to extend its main dig on a former pig field at the Bidston based farm with members working on the site most Sunday afternoons in season.
