AS a resident who cares deeply about the protection of Wirral and its unique mixture of green open spaces, urban communities and seashore, I was shocked and appalled to read the article on the Wirral Globe website about "deals being done" re the green belt, seemingly along party political lines, rather than on an assessment of the needs of the local community.

This is shockingly undemocratic and displays a contempt for all those who gave up their to attend the council's "consultations" on the future of the green belt in Wirral and still give up their time to try to protect it.

I strongly urge all Wirral residents write to their MPs, asking them to bring this shameful activity to the attention of Mr James Brokenshire.

He needs to send in Government appointed administrators to formulate a Local Plan for the people, not the council.
