FIREFIGHTERS were called to the M56 yesterday morning, Sunday, after a car burst into flames.
At around 7.30 am, crews were called to reports of a fire on the M56 westbound between junction 8 for the A556 and junction 9 for Lymm
Three fire engines from Lymm, Warrington and Birchwood attended the scene on the hard shoulder.
Crews, one wearing breathing apparatus, used hydraulic cutting equipment and a hose reel jet to put out the fire.
Firefighters were at the scene for two hours.
