A PLANNING application has been submitted to Wirral Council from Onward Homes to build 28 two-bedroom flats.

These flats will replace the Dell Hotel public house which is to be demolished.

The Dell Hotel use to be a focal point for the estate but with the downturn in trade, the industry has suffered and unfortunately, the hotel has become a victim.

Although this might be the sign of the times, the community of the Prenton Dell estate has been shocked that the pub is getting knocked down and replaced with flats.

At a meeting held by the Prenton Tenants and Residents Association on March 26 was in favour of objecting to the council over this application.

It was mentioned that notification of these plans only came to light officially on March 11, when the PTRA received a letter, dated March 6, stating an application had been presented to the planning department and any comments should be made on or before March 27.

Surely this cannot be right?

I understand that on the internet the closing date for any objections was April 3, why, is this different date from the letter the PTRA received?

I would like to know why the lateness to the residents of Prenton Dell of the information they have now received.
