THERE have been many recent stories that have gained national interest about people who have voluntarily been cleaning dirty road signs - speed signs, directional signs etc.
Having lived in Wirral my whole life I've notice we have many signs that are hard to read due to green algae or road film on them.
Wouldn't it be lovely and a way for the Wirral to get national recognition if we ran a Wirral-wide campaign, perhaps over a weekend, for people near a sign to just quickly wipe it?
It would be a great sign of pride in our beautiful area, a lovely community-wide thing to do, show our children what community is about and ... perhaps, most importantly, improve Wirral-wide road safety.
How great would it be to have the whole of the Wirral spruced up in this simple way.
