A WIRRAL care home manager has been handed a top industry award.
Home manager at Anchor's Birkenhead Court Care Home Brian McNaught, 30, won the Care Assessor Award at the Great British Care Awards.
Working at the home for nine years, Brian was joined by residents and staff to celebrate his win.
He told the Globe: "I was so nervous and was really shocked when they called out my name.
"I love working at Birkenhead Court as it gives me a chance to provide good quality care for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
“I love working with older people because they have given so much to society during their long lives, I want to give my all at work to ensure they enjoy living with us in a safe and comfortable home.”
Registered manager at the care home Mary Hardy said everyone was thrilled that Brian had won.
She said: "This award means that Brian has been recognised nationally for the great work he does.
"Brian is a valued member of staff who is committed to making our residents happy by providing person-centred care.
"I am so pleased as this puts Birkenhead Court on the map and highlights the dedicated members of staff who work here.”
