DRIVERS were told to expect delays after a lorry broke down on the M53.
Highways England issued the warning after long delays were reported on the M56 eastbound due to a broken down lorry on junction 15 at Ellesmere Port.
One lane was closed and recovery units were on scene alongside with Highways England officers who helped direct traffic.
Motorists were stuck in around 3.5 miles of congestion which added around 30 minutes to journey times.
