A TEAM of Wirral sports stars have been crowned English Schools Netball Champions for 2019.
Wirral Grammar School for Girls Year 9 netball team won all of their ten matches.
In the final, the team played Manchester's Bluecoat School, winning 15 to 7.
Held at Stanborough School in Welwyn Garden City, the girls also won the trophy for the best defence, conceding the fewest goals of any team in the tournament.
Headteacher Elaine Cogan told the Globe: "I am so proud of the team and the dedicated staff who have coached and supported them since Year 7.
"We definitely had the most dedicated and loudest supporters there."
Squad: Harriet Jones (captain), Lucy Thomas (vice captain), Eve Cooper, Seanna Jones, Lucy Clayton, Luisa Reilly, Lara Battersby, Isla Shillington and Olivia Gow.
