A WIRRAL therapeutic cancer charity has received a £5,000 boost from The Screwfix Foundation.
Wirral Holistic Care, based in Claughton, is a nurse-led therapeutic cancer charity that supports patients and families after diagnosis.
Trustee at Wirral Holistic Care Beth Venmore told the Globe: “We are very grateful to The Screwfix Foundation for donating these much-needed funds to support our charity.
"Wirral Holistic is a Nurse-led therapeutic cancer charity that supports patients and families after cancer diagnosis.
"We offer many relaxation therapies; Counselling, Physiotherapy and Acupuncture to name a few.
"We are a free service and rely on the generosity of companies and the public in general to continue our work.
"We’d like to thank everyone who was involved in the fundraising – it’s been a great help to us.”
The cash was used to build an access ramp to the centre's annexe, to repave the courtyard and to rebuild the summer house.
Dave Bergin, store manager of Screwfix Birkenhead said: “We’re really pleased that one of our local charities has been awarded funding by The Screwfix Foundation.
"Staff from across the business have held a variety of fundraising events to raise vital funds for The Screwfix Foundation, so it’s fantastic to see the money we have raised being invested back into such a worthwhile community project.”
