A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered serious injuries following a crash in Irby.

Emergency services were called at around 6.30pm on Monday, March 4 to Irby Road following reports of a crash involving a motorcyclist and a black Toyota Yaris at the junction of Backford Road.

As a result of the crash the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Constable Craig Williams from the Matrix Roads Policing Unit said: "We are keen to speak with anyone who maybe have witnessed this collision and are particularly keen to trace the driver of a Vauxhall Vivaro van, who may have been directly behind the motorcyclist.

“We would urge anyone who witnessed this incident, or anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.”
