A BRAND new Mersey Ferries cruise is set to launch in May.

The three-hour excursion will launch in May with four cruises ready to set sail and travel towards Blundellsands and Formby before returning to Liverpool's UNESCO World Heritage Waterfront.

This sight-seeing cruise will give passengers the chance to enjoy the incredible Mersey scenery while learning more about the history of the Liverpool Bay area with a commentary provided by a Blue Badge Guide.

Passengers will be able to experience beautiful panoramic views of the River Mersey the cruise will set sail past Royal Seaforth Docks, Fort Perch Rock and along the Crosby Channel.

While passing Crosby beach, ferry enthusiasts will be able to catch a unique glimpse of Anthony Gormley's Another Place art installation from the river.

During the cruise a fully licensed bar will be open and live entertainment will be provided by The Shanty Kings.

Designed for passengers young and old, the cruises are a memorable day out for families.

The limited cruises will take place on the following dates and times, with tickets expected to sell out fast:

Saturday 4 May: 12pm

  • Departs from Seacombe, Wirral at 12pm
  • Departs from Pier Head, Liverpool at 12.15pm

Saturday 4 May: 4pm

  • Departs from Seacombe, Wirral at 4pm
  • Departs from Pier Head, Liverpool at 4.15pm

Sunday 4 August: 12pm

  • Departs from Seacombe, Wirral at 12pm
  • Departs from Pier Head, Liverpool at 12.15pm

Sunday 4 August: 4pm

  • Departs from Seacombe, Wirral at 4pm
  • Departs from Pier Head, Liverpool at 4.15pm

Ticket are priced at £16 for an adult and £8 for a child. A family ticket for two adults and two children is also available for £43.
