RAIL services on the Wirral Line were cancelled earlier today due to a broken down train.
Services going to West Kirby and New Brighton were affected.
Merseyrail confirmed the disruption was down to a broken down train between Birkenhead North and Birkenhead Park.
Passengers were advised to use Rock Ferry services to Hamilton Square and then board a replacement to Birkenhead North.
In a statement, Merseyrail said: "Due to a broken down train between Birkenhead North and Birkenhead Park, services on the West Kirby and New Brighton lines are disrupted this afternoon.
"Services on the West Kirby and New Brighton lines are terminating at and restarting back from Birkenhead North.
"A rail replacement bus service has been requested to run between Birkenhead North and Hamilton Square, and more information with regards to the availability of this bus service will be provided as soon as it becomes available."
