YOU can now take part in a 5k Pizza Run around Birkenhead Park to raise cash for Wirral's homeless.

Event organisers Wirral Ark have combined running and pizza in a bid to make a difference to Merseyside.

The charity provides crisis and preventative support to the borough's homeless by providing a safe place to stay while making sure they get the help they need to turn their lives around.

Runners can sign up to take part in the 5k route around Birkenhead Park on Saturday, April 20.

Open to families with children and dogs, you will only complete the race when you finish a slice of pizza.

Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult runner.

Everyone who finishes will receive a Wirral Ark Pizza Run t-shirt and medal - including your four-legged friends.

Fundraiser at Wirral Ark Pauline Cox said: "We wanted an event that the whole family and all abilities could enjoy together, whether you walk, run, jog, push a buggy, it’s open to all."

Participants are asked to raise a minimum of £25 to help Wirral Ark with their work with the homeless.
