A FLOOD alert has been put in place for Wirral.
Forecasters have issued the warning on the Mersey Estuary from Liverpool to Wirral due to the fact that tide is higher than usual.
Flooding of low lying land, roads and farmland is possible between 11.30am and 12.45pm today (Wednesday, February 20).
Incident response staff at the Environment Agency are monitoring weather forecasts and river levels and will issue further flood warnings if necessary.
Residents are urged to stay safe along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads due to large waves and sea spray.
Good morning! Unsettled conditions for the north and west today, with southern and eastern parts staying mostly dry with some sunny spells. It will feel mild for all. Hannah and Adam here to answer all of your tweets! ^Hannah pic.twitter.com/GJFFPEpgWj
