POLICE have released images of a man they want to speak to after a woman was attacked and threatened with a syringe at a petrol station in Moreton.

Emergency services were called to the Shell Garage on Hoylake Road just before 6.30pm on Saturday, February 2 following reports a man had entered the garage and demanded cash from the till.

The man jumped over the counter and stamped, punched and kicked the female cashier before threatening her with a syringe.

She was taken to hospital after the incident where she received treatment for her injuries.

The man is white, has fair hair and was wearing a blue jacket, black backpack, black scarf and black trainers.

He left the scene on a mountain bike with cash.

Officers have now released CCTV images of a man they believe will be able to help them with the investigation.

Detective inspector Mike Dalton: "We would like to trace the male pictured in the CCTV as we believe he has information which could assist our investigation.

“I would ask anyone who recognises him to contact us as a matter of urgency.”
