WITNESSES are being urged to come forward after a 76-year-old man was hit by a taxi near the exit to the Birkenhead Tunnel in Liverpool.
Emergency services were called at around 3pm to William Brown Street on Monday, January 21 following reports that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a black Hackney cab
The taxi was originally stopped but the driver stated that they had a fare and drove away without giving any details to officers.
The pedestrian, a 76-year-old man, was assisted by a member of public who took him to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital where he was kept in for surgery.
