PLANS for 49 'affordable' homes in Rock Ferry have been given the green light.

The £6 million rent scheme, named Livingstone Park, will provide 15 two and three bedroom houses and 34 one and two bedroom apartments off land on St Peter's Road adjacent to Cammell Laird 1907 Football Club.

Each of the homes, from Merseyside based Pine Court Housing Association, will be available to rent via Wirral Council's based lettings register Property Pool Plus (PPP).

Wirral contractors MBE Construction have been appointed to the big build.

Cabinet member for housing and community safety Cllr George Davies told the Globe: "I was delighted to visit the Livingston Park site and see the progress being made on this exciting new development, which will offer good quality, attractive and affordable social housing for rent in Rock Ferry."

Pine Court Housing Association say they are committed to delivering 'affordable high quality' homes to help housing demand and requirements of the local community.

David Brown, director of operations at Pine Court Housing Association said: “The new homes which are set to support the demand for affordable housing on the Wirral have already received an unprecedented amount of interest.

"The Livingstone Park development has witnessed excellent collaborative working between Pine Court Housing Association and parent company, The Sovini Group to acquire the land and utilise in-house expertise to oversee the progress of the development.

"Additionally, we are working closely with contractors and the council to ensure high quality homes are delivered safely and on time.”

The Livingstone Park development is set to be completed by 2020 and was part funded by Homes England.
