TRANMERE Rovers have signed Walsall midfielder Kieron Morris on loan until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old winger, who is a product of the Saddlers' youth system, has made more than 150 first team appearances for the Midlands outfit since his debut in August 2013.

So far this season, Hereford-born Morris has made 26 appearances for the League One side, scoring five times.

In an interview on Rovers' website, manager Micky Mellon said: "We're really pleased. It's something that we've wanted to do, bring in a winger of his quality.

"We love our wing players at this club so it was important that when we had the opportunity to sign such a good one, that we were able to do that.

"We know how he plays so we're looking forward to getting him out there and working with us."

Looking forward to being part of Mellon's squad, Morris - who played against Tranmere in a Carabao Cup win for Walsall at Prenton Park last August - admitted that the opportunity to sign for Rovers was a “no brainer".

He said: "I know it's a big club with big ambitions. I knew from the fanbase and everything else that it is a massive club and I knew I'd like to come here.

"Now, I'm playing for Tranmere I just want to get a lot of games.

"I've got plenty of experience in the league and playing in League Two, it is a good league and sort of similar to League One and I'm looking to get started.

"Tranmere is a big Club, it is tight this league and we have a great chance to get in the Play-Offs and get promotion.

"It is a great opportunity to get promoted."
