A TAKE That tribute show in aid of a foundation helping people with dementia will be staged at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton later this year.

Proceeds from The Take That Experience concert on March 16 will go to the K Woods Foundation.

The charity was established in 2014 in memory of the late Kenneth Woods, by son Adam, to create awareness and publicity for Alzheimer’s / Dementia.

Whilst actively fundraising for Dementia UK, The K Woods Foundation has so far raised over £20,000 thanks to the continued support from the people of Merseyside.

In 2015 it was decided that The K Woods Foundation would claim its’ own charity status, as it identified a strong need to support people living with Dementia on the Wirral.

A spokesman for the charity said: "All trustees and volunteers work, or have previous experience, in the care sector and have considerable experience with supporting people living with dementia.

"The Foundation runs a "drop-in" centre for people on Wirral who are living with Dementia, known as the ACES Group (Activity-Cognitive-Engagement-Support).

"We currently operate two sessions per month and hope to increase the frequency in the coming months.

"The purpose of the group is to provide a safe and comfortable environment with entertainment, interactive activities, refreshments and emotional support for those living with dementia in our local area.

"Our meetings take place on the second Wednesday and last Friday of every month at Upton Victory Hall in Salacre Lane, Upton.

"We also arrange annual trips which include Christmas lunch and a day out in the summer.

"There is no charge to those attending, including their carer. At the end of the day our aim is to make lasting memories for all involved.

"Like all voluntary organisations, The K Woods Foundation relies on donations and support at our charitable events and all monies raised goes directly into the charity funds."
