A GREEN-themed fun run will take place in the grounds of Clatterbridge Cancer centre next month.

Taking place on Sunday, February 10, it will be the finale of the centre's annual Let's Go Green week, when supporters across the region hold their own fundraising events.

Proceeds will go to Clatterbridge Cancer Charity's campaign to raise £15million for construction of a new specialist hospital in Liverpool city centre and improvements to the Wirral site.

Those taking part can run or walk the 2km course in the grounds of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. You can do the route as many times as you like.

If that's not enough fun, a green powder paint station will be situated out on the route ready to cover you head to toe in green.

Those taking part can do so in green clothes or fancy dress - whether they're an alien, a Hulk or a Tinkerbell, just as long as it's green.

Everyone can take part, whether it's to celebrate a life, remember a loved one or just enjoy time with family and friends.

Mark Parkinson, event manager for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, said: "This is a unique opportunity for people to take part in a fun event right here in the grounds of our hospital.

"We hope that people of all ages and abilities will take part and enjoy a brilliant new event while raising money to help transform cancer care."

It costs £7 for children and £12 for adults to take part. Participants are asked to raise minimum sponsorship of £25.
