A WIRRAL mum has made it through to the finals of Mecca Star - a competition to find the UK's best new singing superstar, but needs Globe's golden-hearted readers help.

Mandi Fisher, 26, received a standing ovation after performing 'I'm Telling You I'm Not Going' by Jennifer Hudson in the second round of auditions

The mum-of-three will now perform live in the finals at Mecca Dagenham on February 16 in front of a judging panel that includes Blue's Duncan James, X Factor winner Ben Haenow and Claire Sweeney.

Mandi, from Leasowe, spends her time being a full-time mum, writing and performing while also running fundraisers to help grant wishes for people who are terminally ill.

In 2016, Mandi lost her mum to terminal cancer and says this made her think it's 'now or never' to chase her dreams.

Mandi told the Globe: "I lost my mum in 2016 to terminal cancer at 65 and this made me realise that it is now or never as she told me to go for my dreams and here I am.

"My dad is my number one fan, he has been my biggest fan and given me the best support all my life, sadly he has just had a heart attack.

"So i'm giving this everything i've got to make him proud.

"I’m so blown away to be a finalist in such a great competition.

"I’ve sang my whole life, so this is a huge achievement for me.

“My dad and husband have both been my rocks throughout the years of my singing career, so if I was to be lucky enough to win I would definitely spend some of the money taking them and my kids on an amazing holiday to say thank you.

"I would also give a little back and donate some to the charities I work with.

“I am so passionate about music, I have been singing since I was seven years old and have used music to celebrate happy times and overcome difficult ones. It would be a dream come true to win.”

Mandi must now generate as many public votes as possible to be in with a chance of being crowned Mecca Star.

Chris Ashton spokesman for Mecca Bingo said: “We’re extremely excited that Mandi has made it through to the national finals.

"Who knew there was so much hidden talent in Wirral?

“Mandi has really set the bar, so expectations are high for her final performance.

“The panel of celebrity judges are certainly going to have a difficult job when it comes to choosing Mecca’s singing superstar.”

The winner will receive the chance to perform alongside their X Factor idols and will win a cash prize of £2,500.

Members of the public have until January 31 to vote and all they have to do is log in or sign up to www.meccabingo.com, create a chat name (if a new member) and then click bonus code and type in 'MANDI'.
