FIVE guns, ammunition and a silencer were seized at a property on Rylands Drive in Orford by police during the ongoing probe.

The guns were discovered by officers despite attempts to hide the weapons in the loft.

Another gun was found along with two bullets in a wicker basket at the foot of a bed.

The working Russian AKM 7.62 assault rifle could secure a price in the range of £3,500 and £6,000.

A Ruger 5 cylinder revolver wrapped in cling film and kept in a red bag was found following a raid on a house on Oxford Street in Latchford.

While the gun had been de-activated, it was evident that an attempt had been made to re-activate the weapon.

If sold as a viable firearm, the Ruger was worth between £1,500 to £3,000 on the illicit market.

Key figures in the gang had possession and control of the guns and live ammunition, which were stored in the property by Christopher Houghton.

But it was the prosecution’s case that Leon and Anthony Cullen had 'ultimate control and direction' of these weapons.
