A WIRRAL couple desperately searching for a miracle after going through two attempts of IVF have launched a fundraising campaign to receive groundbreaking treatment.

Collette, 32, and Dave Pemberton, 30, from Irby, got married in 2015 and decided to start a family soon after, but following two years of trying the couple went to their GP with some concerns.

The couple then received the devastating news that Collette had female factor infertility and was later diagnosed with endometriosis and a low ovarian reserve after investigative surgery.

Collette told the Globe: "Like most other people we never thought it would be an issue.

"It was found after surgery that I suffered from endometriosis and Diminished Ovarian Reserve (DOR) and it was recommended that we go straight for an egg donor which we weren’t ready for.

"We tried two rounds of Clomid (medication used to treat infertility in women) which resulted in two golf ball size cysts on both of my ovaries and I had to go through more surgery to remove the cysts.

"We were told we didn’t qualify for NHS funded IVF so we decided to look at options abroad as it was a lot cheaper.

"We went to Spain and after meeting with the doctor everything seemed positive, however we received even more bad news.

"The doctors said things where worse than we had first thought and a donor egg would be our only option."

Determined not to give up on their dream of becoming parents Collette and David decided to self-fund IVF treatment with their original specialist in the UK.

Collette continued: "Following a course of tablets and injections, we managed to get two eggs.

"A day later we got a call to say that both had fertilised! Three days later the hospital called again to say that everything was looking textbook and booked us in for a day five transfer.

"The transfer was traumatic. It was then found that I have a tilted cervix and they needed to use forceps to pull the cervix into the right place. But our perfect embryo was in there."

But more heartbreak and disappointment followed for the couple as after two weeks of waiting, they received a negative pregnancy test result.

She added: "We decided to go for round two straight away but unfortunately we were not successful again.

"We have now spent around £16,000 on IVF and have even remortgaged our house but we can not afford to try again.

"We are just praying for a miracle.

"We have found an amazing new clinic that specialise in DOR and have the chance to try again with what we believe to be a much better chance of success."

The couple are now hoping to raise £12,000 to give them the best possible chance of achieving their dream to have a family.

So far £640 has been raised of their final target.

Now their friend and blogger Sophie Edwards, is helping spread the word in the hope Collette and Dave hit their fundraising goal through her blog Pixel Mama.

In a blog post Sophie said: "Thankfully there is hope in the form of IVF, but unfortunately this form of treatment is costly and not always successful not to mention the physical stresses it can put on the person trying to conceive and the emotional aftermath of an unsuccessful insemination.

"In a bid to try an understand better the battles faced, I interviewed Collette who is going through this heartbreaking time to try and deliver a different perspective away from statistics and unfamiliarity and bring a human being, in all its raw form explaining what it’s like to be suffering with infertility.

"By donating or by simply being the supportive friend and shoulder to cry on, anyone can help.

"Sadly Collette and Dave have had to remortgage their house and gone through the agonising process of failed IVF, yet they are still hopeful and are asking for another chance to for fill their dream of having a family."
