RESIDENTS across Wirral West are being offered the chance to help decide which local projects should receive a share of £50,000.

The cash fund comes from Wirral West Constituency Committee which has helped fund more than 200 local projects over the last four years.

From Monday, January 14 at 12pm, residents will be able to vote online for projects which have been put forward by voluntary and community groups in Wirral West.

Projects include the purchase and installation of defibrillators, improvements to parks and support for carers and luncheon clubs.

Last year the committee invited organisations to bid for funding of up to £1,000 and dozens of applications were received.

Chairman of Wirral West Constituency Committee Cllr Jeff Green said: “Almost 1,900 residents took part in the last community vote in 2016 and I would urge everyone to take part once again.

“We have received 35 applications for proposed projects to take place in Wirral West and want to give local people the chance to contribute to the Constituency Committee’s decision-making.

“This voting survey will provide residents with a chance to tell us what’s important to them and to let local people know about the fantastic work carried out by the many volunteers in the area.”

There will also be a voting event at Hoylake Parade Community Centre on Tuesday, January 22 from 5.30pm, were groups will be in attendance and available to chat to residents who would like to know a little more about their proposed projects before placing their vote.

Voting can be done online via www.wirral.gov.uk/wirralwest by clicking 'how to get involved in Wirral West' or by picking up a voting paper from the following libraries; Greasby, Hoylake, Irby, Pensby, Upton, West Kirby and Woodchurch.

The voting deadline is Friday, January 25 at 12pm.
