A MAN armed with a crowbar threatened staff before stealing cash from a shop in Oxton.

Merseyside Police were called at around 6.40pm on Sunday, January 6 to Homebrew Bottle Shop on Christchurch Road following reports a man had walked in with a crowbar and demanded cash.

He then left the shop with a stack of cash.

No-one was injured during the incident.

The man is white, in his early to mid-20s and around 6ft.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark coloured hooded top with the hood up to conceal his face and a dark coloured hat.

He was also carrying an Asda plastic carrier bag.

Detective inspector Phil Atkinson said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Christchurch Road, Oxton, at around 6.30pm last night, who saw anyone fitting the description of the man, or anyone who has any information about the incident to contact us."
