A MAN was treated for serious injuries following an assault in Prenton in the early hours of Boxing Day.

Police received a report shortly after 1.05am that a 32-year-old man had attended hospital where he was treated for lacerations to his torso, head and left leg.

His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Following enquiries it was established an altercation had taken place on Prenton Hall Road between midnight and 1am, where the man had been assaulted.

Patrols attended and a forensic examination of the scene has taken place, alongside house-to-house enquiries. CCTV opportunities have also been explored.

Police say the victim is not helping with their enquiries and are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
