STAFF, volunteers and residents at Caldy Manor care home really got into the festive spirit by taking part in the annual Christmas Jumper Day.

The centre featured an afternoon of live music from its favourite entertainers The Gee Jays during Friday's event.

Charity concert

A Christmas Concert in aid of KIND is taking place at Christ Church in Port Sunlight this Friday.

Among those performing are singer Tom Spence, the Silvertones singing group, vocalist/guitarist Henry Ball and pianist Wendy Dickinson.

Farmers' market

WEST Kirby Farmers market is open this Saturday.

Taking place at St Andrew's Church Hall in Graham Road, West Kirby, it runs from 9am-1pm.

Organised by the community association Transition Town West Kirby it features local producers selling artisan foods.

First Friday

FIRST Friday ladies group will host a presentation entitled an evening in St Petersburg with Sheila when it meets next month.

The event takes place at Marlowe Road United Reformed Church in Wallasey on Friday, January 4 at 7.30pm.

Event is free, donations are welcome.

Party-time!

HOYLAKE Social Club’s Christmas party will be held this Saturday.

Taking place at the venue in Trinity Road, Hoylake it will feature entertainer Peter Jackson and singer Katie.

There will also be a disco.

Tickets are £5.

On New Year’s Eve, there will be entertainment from Billy Myers and comedienne Ashleigh. There will be a disco. Tickets, £10, are from the club on 0151 632 3035.

Photography

NEW photography courses will start at Bebington Civic Centre on January 9.

Organised by educational charity ‘Wirral 3 Ls’ , it will feature five ability levels.

THE Festival of Music, Speech and Drama is celebrating its 70th anniversary next year and Globe readers are urged to send in applications for both festival weekends.

The speech and drama element will take place on March 15 and 16.
