POLICE are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Wallasey.

Merseyside Police received a report at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, December 12 that a man, in his 20s, had been stabbed in Martins Lane before walking into a nearby shop.

The man was taken to hospital for assessment for non life-threatening injuries but has so far failed to co-operate with police.

Detectives are now appealing for information while CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing.

Detective inspector Mike Dalton said: "This appears to have been a targeted attack in which the victim is not co-operating.

"At this early stage in the investigation, we want to hear from anyone who saw or heard this incident taking place, or has heard any information since.

"We think that the incident took place on Liscard Road, near to Martins Lane.

“If you live or work locally and have home or business CCTV, or were driving past and have dashcam, please check let us know as soon as you can.

“We work hard across the force to tackle knife crime and will act on all information provided to find the person responsible and remove them from the streets.”
