THIS is how much more you will pay for your Merseytravel tickets from next month.

The fare proposals for multi-operator tickets are set to be agreed by the body’s transport committee meeting on December 13, and will mean commuters forking out extra for their journeys.

The increases are within the UK-wide rise of 3.2% announced earlier this year, and set to take effect from January 3.

Here’s how much you’ll be paying for your multi-operator ticket, and how much of a rise it will be. We have picked some of the most popular types of ticket, with a link to the full list of fares below.

The transport committee report said the ‘Solo’ bus-only prices will be subject to a further report early next year. In the meantime, there will be no change in prices.

The report also said the body didn’t anticipate any reductions in revenue or demand for services, prices will “remain affordable” and operators will be no worse off.

It added that “significant consultation” had been carried out with the operators.

In terms of individual Merseyrail ticket prices, the firm announced an average rise of 2.9% back in January.

That will mean the day saver ticket – offering unlimited travel after 9.30am on weekdays and any time on weekends and Bank Holidays – will rise by 1.9% to £5.30.

The family ticket price will be frozen at £11 for a third consecutive year.

Speaking last month, Merseyrail’s commercial director, Suzanne Grant, said: “Merseyrail continues to be the most affordable and the most punctual network in the country.

“98% of fares are reinvested back in to the railway, which enables further improvements to be made to the network so that we can continue to deliver a reliable and robust service for our passengers.”

Speaking on Thursday, a Merseytravel spokesman said: “Proposed adjustments to travel fares are being discussed at the upcoming transport committee meeting on December 13, and a decision will be taken here as to any changes in pricing.”
