I WAS very proud to both present and perform at the Timperley Christmas lights event and help officially welcome Christmas to the town.

It was a fantastic community event with the biggest turn out ever! After I kicked off proceedings with a few Christmas classics we were treated to the wonderful school choirs of Forest School, Willows Primary and Heyes Lane who were all absolutely fantastic.

The Mayor of Trafford, Cllr Tom Ross, then gave out the North West in Bloom Awards and also judged the best dressed windows in the local shops, which all looked amazing!

We were also treated to the guest appearance of Timperley resident, Ann O’Brien, who 40 years ago appeared on the television talent show New Faces.

Ann gave beautiful renditions of Silent Night and O Come All Ye Faithful, much to the crowd’s delight.

Despite the occasional downpour, the local residents didn’t let it dampen their spirits and really enjoyed the lovely community festivities, dancing and singing along.

Thank you so much to the Timperley Life team, especially Nathan and Laura Evans, Thomas Carey and Angela Bruer-Morris.

We had a lovely afternoon in Timperley and it was a pleasure to perform for you all in your beautiful town.

At the weekend Val and I attended the second annual Elf Memory Walk, in Davyhulme Park, to raise awareness and funds for the Trafford Alzheimer’s society.

I was very proud to see the lovely lapel ribbons that my Val had made and donated, being sold to help raise funds.

There was a treasure hunt for the children (and adults!) with hot chocolate and mince pies.

The event was organised by Joanne Harding and Claire Foster who were supported by the Friends of Davyhulme Park.

It was also nice to see in attendance the Mayor of Trafford Cllr Tom Ross and his consort Cllr Anne Duffield. It was a lovely community event with all funds raised going to the Trafford Alzheimer’s Society.

Finally, I’d like to give a huge shout out to Mr Phil Redfern who is an absolutely lovely gentleman. Phil drives for taxi firm Local Cars and he really saved the day for me at a recent corporate event.
