AN exhibition of pupils' art is now on display at St Catherine's Health Centre in Birkenhead.

Created by pupils from Pensby High School, the work is on display at the centre for a year, and aiming to create a bright and stimulating environment for patients and visitors to enjoy.

Pupils, parents, NHS staff and members of the public attended the exhibition's launch, which also included the switch on of St Catherine's Health Centre Christmas Lights, performed by Mayor, Cllr Geoffrey Watt.

Providing the musical entertainment was the school's brass band.

Afterwards there was a Community Carol Concert with the Salvation Army Brass Band in St Catherine’s Church.

Karen Howell, Chief Executive at Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This health centre is a community asset and we are delighted to be able to exhibit art from local schools here for the public to enjoy. Creating a positive healthcare environment for patients and staff is very important to us and the work on display from Pensby High School will help us to do just that.”

The art exhibition is supported by Arts Society Wirral which kindly funded the artwork frames. The exhibition is a rolling programme and the Trust is looking forward to working with other local schools next year.
