HOLMES Chapel Library is hosting the launch of its Connected Communities Centre on Saturday, November 24, from 11am to 1.30pm.

The event will showcase organisations, and there will be free refreshments and a raffle.

Connected Communities is a new scheme backed by Cheshire East Council.

Community venues across Cheshire East are changing to Connected Communities Centres in a scheme to make a wider range of activities and support services available on your doorstep.

The centres aim to deliver services tailored for their community, from coffee mornings, computer classes and line dancing, to learning a language, sharing a problem and support for stroke sufferers.

Every centre will have a computer tablet connected to the Live Well community information website so people can easily find information, advice, activities and services in their area.

There are to be Connected Communities Centres at Holmes Chapel Community Centre, Holmes Chapel Library and Goostrey Village Hall.

For more information about Connected Communities Centres in your area or the launch event call Julie Walker on 07929 056745.
