A POPULAR Wirral pub is closed for two weeks while it undergoes refurbishment.

Arrowe Park Hungry Horse is currently undergoing a six-figure refurbishment to modernise the bar area and sports viewing area ahead of its reopening on Wednesday, November 28.

The sports viewing area will be enhanced with high quality sound systems from many screens throughout the pub.

Beer garden will also be extended with additional seating and outdoor lighting.

Michelle Bentley, general manager at Arrowe Park Hungry Horse said: “The Arrowe Park Hungry Horse is at the heart of the local community, so we want to provide our guests with even better surroundings to enjoy a great selection of drinks and schedule of sporting events throughout the year.

“We’re really excited to get the refurbishment underway, and look forward to welcoming our Wirral neighbours to the revamped venue when it officially opens on Wednesday, November 28.

“The weekend is also set to be big, with a series of events to celebrate the opening.

"A launch party with an Elton John tribute will kick this off on Saturday, December 1, where we’d like to invite everyone to come and celebrate with us!”

The refurbishment is set to create four new jobs for the local area.
