A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged after a police car chase through the Wallasey Tunnel.
Merseyside Police were called at around 3am on Monday, August 13 following reports of a VW Tiguan car theft from a home in Leasowe.
The car was spotted going through the Wallasey Tunnel and following a police chase was stopped in Islington, Liverpool.
Two boys ran from the car but were eventually detained by officers.
A 16-year-old boy from Woodchurch was arrested on the night and was charged yesterday (Tuesday, November 13) with two counts of burglary and theft, aggravated vehicle taking (being carried on) and dangerous driving.
He will appear at Merseyside Youth Bail Court on November 27.
The second boy arrested, a 17-year-old from Leasowe remains on bail.
Anyone with information about burglaries are asked to call 999 if a crime is in progress or to pass on information call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
