THE full list of Avon replacement bus services across Wirral has been revealed.

A total of 18 bus routes have been saved, one new service has been introduced while 15 services have been withdrawn.

A lot of the withdrawn services are either covered by the new bus service while others have been re-routed to cover these areas.

Wirral based Avon buses revealed that they would be closing on October 5 after 35 years of serving the local community.

Directors cited the cost in running bus services in Merseyside and Merseytravel's introduction of the MyTicket as the reason for the closure.

Eastham labour supporter Ruth Molyneux, who has been campaigning for the new bus services said: “We are here today to welcome to our new bus route - the 16 and 17 - connecting Eastham back with Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge hospitals.

"Eastham Labour have campaigned long and hard for this and we’re really happy to see the bus arrive today.”

All replacement bus services will start from Monday, November 5.
