TWO brothers accused of the murder of Birkenhead woman Glenda Jackson appeared for the first time at Liverpool Crown Court today (Thursday, November 1).

Nicholas Curtis and Stuart Curtis are both charged with the murder of 44-year-old Glenda Jackson, who was found dead on the morning of Sunday, September 30.

The defendants appeared via video link from Walton prison and Nicholas Curtis, 32, of Mersey Walk, Tranmere but formerly of Grayson Mews, John Street, Birkenhead, pleaded not guilty.

Stuart Curtis, 31, of no fixed address but formerly of Grayson Mews, was not asked to enter his plea after his barrister Nina Grahame told Judge David Aubrey, QC, that there is to be an application to dismiss the case against him.

He was further remanded in custody to await that hearing on December 21 and Nicholas Curtis was further remanded in custody to await his trial beginning on April 1.

There was no application for bail as one was heard last month.

The death of Miss Jackson, a much-loved character in Birkenhead, prompted an outpouring grief from friends on social media.
