A WOMAN was allegedly threatened with a knife during a break-in at her Wirral home on Halloween night.
Police were called to Town Lane in Bebington at around 6.25pm to reports that a man had forced entry into a property before threatening the occupant, who is in her 40s.
A short time later, a report was received that entry had been forced to a property in Carey Avenue. The burglar made off when disturbed.
According to social media reports, he also pulled a knife on a mum and her children who were out trick or treating.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "Officers attended and recovered a knife nearby in Town Lane, along with property believed to have been stolen.
"CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and locate the offender and anyone with information is asked to contact police."
