WITH the return of River of Light firework spectacular last week, a number of free community displays in Wirral have also been revealed.
River of Light returned on Sunday, November 4.
Titanium Fireworks took over co-ordinating the event last year and have previously worked on national events including the Mayor of London’s New Year’s Eve party, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay and the opening ceremony for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Fireworks were set off from the water’s edge and from barges on the River Mersey.
Wirral Council leader Phil Davies said: “We are delighted to be presenting fireworks displays across the borough this year, including the return of the incredible River of Light.
“We’re giving Wirral residents and visitors the opportunity to experience a world-class display with some fantastic family entertainment in New Brighton, as well as great displays in their local area.
“As we celebrate the end of our Imagine Wirral year which has provided some truly memorable moments we’re also looking ahead to becoming Borough of Culture for Liverpool City Region in 2019.
"We’re sure that River of Light will set the stage for another incredible year of major events.”
Other displays on Guy Fawkes Night include:
Monday, November 5 – 6.30pm start
Bebington: Mayer Park
Leasowe: Leasowe Adventure Playground
Moreton: Lingham Park
Tranmere: Mersey Park
Woodchurch: Woodchurch Park
