TRANMERE Rovers have signed Franklyn Akammadu on loan from Italian side US Alessandria until end of the season.

The 20-year-old striker started his career at Fiorentina before moving to Cesena in Serie B where he made his debut in May last year against Verona.

Commenting on the loan deal, which is subject to international clearance, Rovers manager Micky Mellon said: "We're excited to bring Frankyln in to the group.

"He's a young striker who we see to have a lot of potential and he's a player I feel we can develop at Tranmere which is what we want to do with all of our players.

"We've been looking at him over the last few weeks so we're excited to see what he can do whilst at the club.

"We'd like to thank US Alessandria for allowing Franklyn to join us for the season."
