A ROCK FERRY schoolgirl has become a regional gymnastics champion.

Elece Foy recently became the North West floor and vault champion, the North West tumbling champion and the county two piece champion.

Not long after, 11-year-old Elece qualified for the NDP regional finals and managed to secure a gold medal for the region.

She then went on to compete in the British finals and placed as the fifth best in the country.

Last year Elece ranked 13th nationally for Double Mini Trampoline and is training five to six days a week.

Her mum, Natalie Stott told the Globe: "Elece has come along way in her gymnastics in just a short time and it's all down to her club Wirral Gymnastics and her amazing coaches.

"She attends Pensby High School and they are so proud, supporting her every step of the way, just like we are.

"Her goal is to make it to world's one day and represent her country - she even enters every 5k race that's in Wirral just to keep fit which shows how determined she is to get to were she wants to be."
