ANYONE who wants to catch a glimpse of the MS Queen Elizabeth when it docks in Liverpool can do with a new unique ferry cruise.

The MS Queen Elizabeth will dock at Liverpool Cruise Terminal on Monday, July 23 and to mark the occasion, Mersey Ferries are putting on a day of cruises to give passengers a chance to view the 294m-long vessel from the deck of a Mersey Ferry.

A Blue Badge Guide will also offer insight to the famous Cunard vessel on the 12pm, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm cruises.

Passengers will get an up-close viewpoint of the ship which launched in 2010 and renovated in 2014.

Boasting three main restaurants, a two-storey library with more than 6,000 books, a casino and a luxury spa and fitness centre, the MS Queen Elizabeth has 1,003 crew members who take care of the 2,000 passengers onboard.

Gary Evans from Mersey Ferries said: “The River Explorer Cruises are widely known as one of Liverpool’s most iconic days out and a ‘must-do’ experience for those with an interest in maritime history.

“However, when occasions such as this come around, a trip on the ferry offers a completely unique experience.

"Whether young or old, our passengers always enjoy the chance to feel like they’re part of a notable event and the opportunity to sit back and appreciate the true beauty of this visiting ship.

“When the Cunard MS Queen Victoria visited the city in May, we also offered special River Explorer viewing cruises and they were extremely popular with residents and tourists in the city, so we’re confident the cruises for the MS Queen Elizabeth will go down just as well.”

The River Explorer Cruise also allows passengers the opportunity to enjoy a full day of activity, with free access to the remarkable U-boat Story at Woodside and the chance to visit the interactive Spaceport attraction in Seacombe; which is currently hosting the incredibly popular 'Sci-Fi Icons' exhibition.
