ENTRIES are being taken for this year’s Hoylake 10k coastal run.

Organised by Underground Training Station Gym in Hoylake it takes place on Sunday, September 16. Funds raised will go to the facility’s foundation.

It starts opposite Hoylake Community Centre that day at 11am.

Participants follow a course along the sea front North parade promenade, dropping onto the Meols embankment for a short distance, joining the ranger’s trail and through the gates, through the car park by Leasowe Lighthouse, along the embankment towards Leasowe Castle Hotel and back.

The run had taken place for the last 24 years in aid of Wednesday Special Needs Club, which was based at Hoylake Community Centre but closed at the end of March.

Hospice funday

AN It's a Knockout competition and free family fun day for Wirral Hospice St John's will take place in Birkenhead Park this Sunday.

Held in the field next to the park's visitor centre it will run from 10am-4pm.

Attractions on the day will be craft stalls, children's fairground rides and inflatables. There will also be food and drinks vans.

All proceeds will help fund the Clatterbridge-based centre’s vital work.

Beach clean-up

GLOBE readers are invited to join local action group the High Tidiers for a clean-up of West Kirby beach this Sunday.

Charity concert

AN evening old and new songs in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association will be held this Friday.

Featuring The WMC Chorale, with instrumental & vocal soloists it takes place at St Georgeʼs United Reformed Church in Thornton Hough.

They will perform a varied repertoire of popular songs.

Summer fair

WIRRAL Holistic Care Services centre holds its Summer Fair this Sunday.

Taking place at the therapy centre at Solas, 6 Ashburton Road, Prenton, it will feature live music from Remnants, a Victorian afternoon tea and Hand Therapy taster sessions.

There will also be stalls including tombola and bottle stalls, cakes, jewellery, face painting, bric a brac, books and more.

Admission is free. All money raised will go to support the charity’s activities providing holistic therapies and support for people with cancer.

The event takes place from 12pm to 4pm.

Crafty Kids

ARTS and crafts activities for children are taking place at venues across Wirral this summer.

Crafty Kids Wirral have organised rock painting at Pensby and Irby Library, Playdough and sticking sessions at West Kirby and Greasby Library.

Flaybrick walk

A GUIDED Walk around Flaybrick cemetery in Bidston will take place this Saturday.

Those taking part will meet at Tam O’Shanter Urban Farm at 10.45am. The walk starts at 11am and is £2 per person.

Each walk is different and includes entry to the part restored Chapels.

Charity walk

A WALK in aid of to Wirral Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) will take place later this month.

Held on Saturday, July 21.

It will be a chance to explore Royden Park and the Woods of Thurstaston Common.

The walk starts in the main Carpark at Royden and finishes in the Walled Garden where a wild flower 'Garden of Hope' featuring Cornflowers, which symbol of MNDA) is expected to be in full bloom.

Walkers are asked to make a donation when registering (£5 per person / £10 for family). All walkers can receive an MND T-shirt, and a certificate on completing the walk.

Registration from 10am, walk starts at 11am.

GRANGE Friendship Group meets at Grange Baptist Church in Whetstone Lane, Birkenhead at 2pm on the last Thursday of every month.
