A MAN has been arrested after two people were stabbed in the leg and one man suffered a head injury.

Emergency services were called to Sherlock's bar, Conway Street at around 2.30am on Sunday, July 8 following reports that a fight had broken out between two men and had continued into the street.

Officers believed that two men on a scrambler bike arrived and handed a knife to one man before two people were stabbed.

A 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were both taken to hospital for treatment to stab wounds to their head and leg which have been described as non-life threatening.

A 33-year-old man was seen at his home address a short time later also with a minor head injury.

After a police chase, a 19-year-old man from Birkenhead was arrested on suspicion of attempted section 18 assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has since been released under investigation.

Witness, CCTV and forensic enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
