A TEA party celebrating 70 years of the NHS will be held at St Catherine's Health Centre in Birkenhead next month.
Globe readers are invited to pop in for a cuppa and a cake durin the Big 7Tea party, at the venue in Derby Road on Thursday July 5 from 1-4pm.
Organised by Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust, it will be a chance to appreciate the vital role the NHS plays in all of our lives, and to recognise and thank the extraordinary staff - the everyday heroes who are there to guide, support and care for us, day in, day out.
Special guest, Wirral-born Olympic gold medal-winning hockey player Sam Quek MBE will announce the winners and runners up of the children's Let's Get Creative poster competition on the day.
Open to 5-18 year olds, the theme is ‘Celebrating 70 years of the NHS’ and there is still time plenty of time to enter.
Poster designs may include Happy 70th Birthday NHS, what the NHS means to you or how the NHS has looked after you and your family.
There will be one winning entry and one runner up entry chosen from each of the following categories:
- Five to 10 year olds
- 11 to 15 year olds
- 16 to 18 year olds
The closing date is Friday, June 22.
