A joint investigation has been launched after a suspected arson attack on a property in Wallasey.
Emergency services were called to the flat on King Street at around 8pm on Wednesday, February 28 after reports of a fire.
One person was assessed at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital for further checks.
Two fire engines attended the incident and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
They then ventilated the area.
Firefighters remained on scene for around one hour and 35 minutes.
Police confirmed that an investigation with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is now underway.
