FORECASTERS have issued a severe weather warning for snow and ice across Wirral.
Heavy rain will fall later this evening before a drop in temperature will create icy surfaces on untreated roads.
Snow showers will follow from 4am until 10am tomorrow (Friday).
Rail services are likely to be affected along with longer journey times by car and bus.
Plenty of wet weather around this afternoon, but as it turns colder overnight there will be a risk of ice and snow in places. More detail can be found at https://t.co/2HQpQVveFm pic.twitter.com/VG7WXS5Q6L

A Met Office spokesman said:"Rain and hill snow is expected to clear northwestern Scotland late on Thursday evening, and these clearer conditions will spread to all parts by early Friday morning.
"Ice is expected to form as skies clear.
"Heavy sleet, hail and snow showers will follow, and these will be most frequent across Northern Ireland, western Scotland, north west England and by morning across Wales and the north and west Midlands.
"2 to 5 cm of snow may accumulate above 100m with some snow to low levels too."
