THE dock exit of the Birkenhead tunnel is closed to due emergency repairs.
Merseytravel announced the closure of the Liverpool exit slip road today (Tuesday) after safety concerns were raised.
The closure will affect traffic from Birkenhead to Liverpool until further notice.
On Twitter Merseyrail said: "Due to safety issues we've had to close the 'Dock Branch Exit' of the Birkenhead Tunnel until further notice.
"We apologise for any inconvenience or delay caused."
