AN exhibition of pupils' art is now on display at St Catherine's Health Centre in Birkenhead.

Created by pupils from St Mary's Catholic in Wallasey Village it is made up of ink, wax and printing styles centred around the theme Colour in Nature and Animals.

The work is on display at the centre for a year, aiming to create a bright and stimulating environment for patients and visitors to enjoy.

Pupils, parents, NHS staff and members of the public attended the exhibition's launch, which also included the switch on of St Catherine's Health Centre Christmas Lights, performed by Mayor, Cllr Ann McLachlan.

Karen Howell, chief executive of Wirral Community NHS Foundation Trust, said: "This health centre is a community asset and we are delighted to be able to exhibit art from local schools here for the public to enjoy.

"Creating a positive healthcare environment for patients and our staff is very important to us and the work on display from St Mary’s will help us to do just that."

The exhibition is supported by The Arts Society Wirral who funded the artwork frames.

It is a rolling programme and the trust said it is looking forward to working with other local schools to give more pupils the opportunity to showcase their artwork next year.
