TWO vans were towed after being fully submerged in the River Mersey in New Brighton.
Wirral Coastguard attended the incident on Monday at around 11.27am following reports that two vehicles were in the water at Victoria Slipway.
No-one was in the vehicles at the time.
Coastguard officers remained on scene until the tide had gone out and the owners arranged recovery of the vehicles.
A spokesman said: "It’s very easy to get caught out by the tide so if you are going onto the beach, it’s always important to check the tide times.
"If you see someone in difficulty on the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
