THE owners of a popular West Kirby pub have called time on plans to sell the building.

The Dee Hotel, on Grange Road, was one of 34 put on the market by JD Wetherspoon in November 2015.

Pub regulars had contacted the Globe with concerns over its future, including whether the bar would be open to non-residents if it is sold to a hotel company, and the safety of jobs.

But Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said today: "We can confirm that the company has decided not to sell The Dee Hotel.

"We are certain that the pub's loyal customers will be pleased with the decision".
